India is located in South Asia, bound by the Himalayas and Thar Desert to the north and the Indian Ocean to the south. It has land boarders with six countries including China and Pakistan.
New Delhi is the political capital, while Mumbai is the commercial heart of the country. It’s the world’s sixth biggest economy, growing an impressive 7 per cent a year.
The currency is the Indian Rupee and while India has 22 official languages, the main ones are Hindi and English.
